Cemeteries of Cobb County

The are over 200 cemeteries in Cobb County. These cemeteries serve as part of our county history. The Cobb County Cemetery Preservation Commission was established to ensure the preservation and protection of cemeteries in the county.

Cobb County is home to the Marietta National Cemetery and the Marietta Confederate Cemetery. The cemeteries in the county that are included in the cemetery books published by the Society include:

Cobb County Genealogical Society, Inc. has published a 3 Volume Series of Cobb County Georgia Cemeteries.This is a list of the cemeteries in Cobb County, not the burials.The volume is designated after each cemetery. The burials are listed in these volumes. Where burials are already online, a link to that site is provided.

Publications

Cobb County, Georgia Cemeteries, Vol I
Includes all cemeteries in the eastern portion of Cobb County plus maps & descriptive information for the listed cemeteries and is fully indexed.

Cobb County, Georgia Cemeteries, Vol II
Includes all cemeteries in the western portion of Cobb County plus additional cemeteries in the eastern portion.  Maps & descriptive information for the entire county and is fully indexed.

Cobb County, Georgia Cemeteries, Vol III  
Includes burials of Union Patriots in the Marietta National Cemetery, previously unpublished photos, maps of the Atlanta Campaign, copies of original letters. Alphabetized burial listing includes original interment, section and grave number as well as rank, company and unit.
